New York City, NY – Yesterday retail giant Target Corporation and hotel giant, Marriott International were the latest in a long list of large United States based companies to publicized that the names and email addresses of their respective customers has been breached.   The security breach which occurred last week was not a breach of each individual company but one large email database company called Epsilon. America’s Big Three Auto Makers Report Increased Sales In March

Detroit, MI – As the United States Labor Department reported reported 216,000 new U.S jobs for the month of March the U.S. auto manufactures have also been reporting on the positive.  The domestic sales of U.S. autos have increased significantly last month as Ford (212,295 car sales) took the lead from GM (206,621 car sales) for only the second time since 1998. Chrysler as well seems be doing well though not as well as its’ domestic competitors at only 121,730 car sales last month. Could An I-35W Bridge Collapse Tragedy Happen Again?

On August 1st 2007 in Minneapolis, Minnesota (MN) the I-35W bridge collapsed killing 13 and injuring 145 but, almost 3-1/2 years later how close is the United States to another similar incident?  According to a recent report released today by the Transportation For America (TFA) it may not be a far off event.  Quoting the TFA’s website “69,223 bridges, more than 11 percent of all U.S. highway bridges, are rated “structurally deficient,” requiring significant maintenance, rehabilitation. Will South Carolina Ban Access To Social Media Sites For Its’ Inmates?

Columbia, SC – There is a debate going on in South Carolina headed by Democratic State Representative Wendell Gilliard as to whether or not prisoners should be allowed to use social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or MySpace.  Rep. Abidjan, IVORY COAST – According to a statement today by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNRA) there has been a heavy rise of violence in the capital of the Ivory Coast.   As the country is on the verge of yet another civil war all due to incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo’s refusal to hand power over to the internationally recognized President Alassane Ouattara. More Financial Trouble For Portugal

Lisbon, PORTUGAL – Portuguese government bonds plunged following Jose Socrates’s step down as Portugal’s Prime Minister.  The recent developments in Portugal has placed worry in Europe that the Portuguese government is in need of a large bailout, as much as $99 billion according to some estimates.  Getting a bailout was something, that Prime Minister Socrates wanted to avoid.  He stated back in January of 2011 his country is not going to be asking for a financial bailout from the European Union (EU).
