Cape Canaveral, FL – The Space Shuttle Discovery landed yesterday at 11:57am EST, following yet another flawless mission that sadly, was to be its’ last.  No other space craft, or even non-space vehicle, has traveled the distances Discovery has.  Discovery was used in some 39 missions, traveling over 148 million miles and spent a total of 365 days in outer space, all in its’ short lifetime of just under 27 years. Today, Warner Bros., owned by Time Warner Inc., stated that it was to start making select movies viewable via the social networking giant’s website, Facebook.  This new partnership with Warner Bros. is going allow Facebook to be able to compete in the ever growing online movie viewing fad. Even though Facebook has a fan base of over 1/2 of a billion people it still has a great roadblock in it’s possible path to success in this new field, Netflix.  Whether Facebook fails or succeeds Netflix will be it’s biggest foe however, there are other companies such as Hulu that could also derail Facebook’s efforts....

The 14 AWOL Dems Going Home

Madison, WI – The “fleebaggers” as their Republican counterparts affectionately call them, are 14 Democrats that fled Wisconsin in protest almost 3 weeks ago.  They were protesting a piece of legislation that would limit collective bargaining rights to public union workers in the state.  However, they now seem to want to return home again. For over 18 day the Democrats have been hiding across the border in Illinois and have openly been defying orders to return.  Though it is not known when, according to some news outlets, the Dems say that they should be back soon and will try to negotiate this stand off. ...

$400 Million NASA Satellite Crashes Into Pacific

The satellite named “Glory” which was launched early this morning crashed not long after blast-off, according to a statement released to the public by NASA late this morning.  According to NASA the unnamed rocket as to which the satellite was launched in was unsuccessful in reaching orbit.  Though it is thought to have crashed somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, which is some 68.3 million square miles, it is not known exactly where other then in the south. New Unemployment Claims Drop To Under 400,000

Washington. D.C. – According to a recent government report just released, the quantity of new individuals asking for jobless benefits nose dived during the week of February 20th.  The recent dive brought new unemployment claims to their lowest point in over 3 years, all the while bringing hope that unemployment will only go lower as the year progresses. According to the Department of Labor the new weekly claims for last week ended at 368,000, down some 20,000 from the previous reported tally.  The 20,000 new claims decline was the third such drop over a 1 month period of time, bringing the new claims tally...

U.S. Wants “Tough” Sanctions On Libya

Geneva, SWITZERLAND – The United State Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, was in Switzerland today representing the U.S. as it presses its’ allies in Europe to stand together to place and enforce tough sanctions against the Libyan government.  Secretary Clinton met with European Union officials from Britain, France, Germany and Italy.  The U.S is seeking international support in order to hold Moammar Qaddafi’s toes to the line and convince his loyalists, dwindling daily, to cut ties with the regime.
